Steering wheel upgrade ?

Not for my E91 - I don't even have a vin yet. But I have a friend in Tampa who has an E90 sedan w/o sport package (he can't fit in the SP seats). He wants to know what is involved regards getting the sport package steering wheel and/or the m-sport wheel we've seen posted? I assume he can re-use the airbag module but figure that he needs to order everything else. Advice regards price, part numbers, feasability, etc??? - thanks. Point me somewhere if possible.

Probably be both cheaper and easier to just buy the car with the SP and then buy a couple of complete standard seats from the parts department when the car comes in...

Garage List
The BMW accessories catalog has a lot of steering wheels for previous models, but none yet for E90. I would suspect that in time there will be new steering wheels available and they will be incredibly expensive.

Not my issue. I turned an old friend onto this site - he's a bit meek and doesn't post but trolls around. Wants the wheel. I said like you that it would be a fortune. Told him I'd post and see what was out there. I was originally ordering SP on the E91. I changed it as my wife didn't like the seats one bit. She has some serious back issues and the SP seats just didn't hit her right at all. Lumbar is a must so we're going PP. She liked the sport seats in our 2003 E39 but can't deal with the E90/E91 sport seats. Her call - her car. She loved the wheels however so I've already purchased wheels/tires from a fellow E90 member and I don't even have the vin on the car yet - cart before the horse so to speak. I couldn't care less about the steering wheel and given the fact that the E91 includes no suspension upgrades for the SP - figured I might as well just buy wheels and let it go. My buddy saw the post about it being a thicker wheel, thumb grips - all that stuff and was psyched. You have confirmed my original thoughts - thanks.
