Calling all computer geeks!

So, I figured I would ask because I assume there are some folks on here that know a thing or two about PCs. I have a PC that I put together (with the help of one of my friends who knows way more that I do). I was designed to play WoW (yes, I was one of those people, but not anymore). I want to continue to play video games in my spare time (I want to try Crysis when it comes out and COD 4) but am not sure my PC will be up to the task of the new DX10 games. So should I upgrade or just save up and get a new rig? Or, should I just spend my money on the PS3 versions of games and play in HD on the plasma? Any input is welcome. Thanks.

EDIT: Sorry I totally forgot the specs I will add them when I get back home so I can make sure I get everything correct.

SPECS:

Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe nForce4 Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 FX-55 Processor (2.6 ghz)
Corsair TwinX1024-3200XL Ram
WD Raptor 74GB SATA 10K HD
EVGA Geforce 7800GTX 256mb Video Card
Windows XP Professional

If there is anything else just let me know. Thanks.

right uhh.. how is anyone supposed to know without posting your specs?

FYI on crysis, its designed to be years ahead of its time, even top of the line pcs have difficulty running it (i know i just got done playing it) so if you have an outdated pc dont expect to run it on very high setting

it will probably look amazing even on low setting though lol

PCs are probably outdated in a year, but your specs would be very well appreciated too

Wow my pc is similer to yours dude. I don't even bother playing on pc no more since i'm planning to get a PS3+ Plasma this holiday season

What you can do is since you have a sli mb, get another 7800gtx and run a dual setup and upgrade your ram to some Corsair 2GB 1066Mhz. And make sure you have a 500wat+ power supply

if you really want to be bad ass, the newest video card which i think is the geforce 7800 gtx would be the baddest thing out there. more ram should also help everything run more smoothly. other than that, you seem set

nice MB. Asus makes the best ...everything lol. i just got the ASUS - G1s.... that thing is a beast! beats the living shit out of the XPS laptops (once u update the drivers for the graphics card).

im an ATI guy, but as SpecC suggested, i would do. your computer seems efficient. maybe upgrade the HD, what RPM is it running at? i suggest anything above 10k rpm

Thanks for all the input guys. I think I will pick up some more RAM and possibly toss in another video card and run SLi. I only play a few games on the PC and a majority of my gaming is going to be on the PS3/Plasma combo (like BNR32 is going with) that I will soon have. Well off to start shopping for new RAM and a video card, thanks again.

Using a 4-5 year old computer that runs WoW well, I see no need to upgrade.

You should also check out Hellgate: London.

Yeah a couple of my buddies and I have talked about playing Hellgate: London on-line, if it has the makers of Diablo/Diablo II behind it I will have to try it out.

Well here is the bad news:
You have an outdated motherboard that only supports an outdated process which you also have. Your RAM is DDR not DDR 2 which your mobo doesn't support. Also, your graphics card is weak by current standards. Your best bet it to just keep that PC for day to day tasks and buy a whole new gaming rig.

A good rig that's better than 90-95% of others will cost you about 2k, a top of the line rig costs about 4-5k.
