Back in in the M2 99% of the time, in the Miata, it doesn't matter. It's so dang small I could just about park sideways in some spots lol.

Back in. Used to pull in forwards, but ground the bottom off the bumper one time... never again.

I never had an issue with hitting the lip. In the C7 I just don't go over the curb. However it still depends. In my cars I typically just go head in. In my truck I tend to back in a lot because it's a long sob and I would rather have some of the bed overhang off to the curb or bushes or whatever. Otherwise I would typically take up 2 spots. Plus a lot of times it's just easier to back in the truck to spots.

Pull forward for convenience unless i'm really trying to tuck the car in and there's a lip-killing curb/stopper.

Always forward through the next space, if possible. I'm not good at pulling out.

Depends entirely on the situation and location. Most places I pull in forward, and luckily no spoiler issues due to SUV life...

It does help that I was a valet for a bit in my 20's so I can park anywhere rather well, and parallel park in mind blowing fashion as well.

Back in with truck, pull forward for bmw. Backing in is not as convenient without a backup camera.

Conventional wisdom says back in, especially when it is cold out.
This way, when you leave you won't have to slam the cold, stiff tranny into reverse & then forward, you can just go forward.

Conventional wisdom says to always park a warm gearbox in reverse, so that you don't have to crash a cold reverse next time you drive it! (Every one of my manual transmission vehicles have always been parked in reverse.)

On the original topic, my first job out of school required all employees to have parking stickers on their rear bumpers so the lot patrol could see them. So, I always pull in forward and never really thought about it.....

In addition, to being easier to pull out when you're leaving as you have better visibility, those that have spent time overseas working in various capacities will know backing in is safer from a tactical egress stand point. If you've spent a lot of time either TDY or PCS, old habits die hard.
This.

I don't stop driving often enough to be statistically significant.

Bt srsly. If I need access to the trunk I go in nose first. Backing in when you are going to be coming out of the facility with a cart full of stuff is a form of masochism. The rest of the time the direction I go is based on whim.
