i3 rear view mirror with garage door remote

Hi, reaching out for some help with this, to all you from the US:

In Europe, we can get the sunroof, but no mirror with remote. Strange but true.

Checking the price of such a mirror, it will put me back quite a lot more than I think it is worth. But as the number of US cars are getting higher, so are the number of totalled cars.

So... Could someone point me in the right direction for me to find salvage-yard cars that might have such a mirror? Then I might be able to get one as good as new, for a fraction of the cost..

Google and eBay would be a good places to start.

Step 1: grab your desired part #:

Step 2: Search to your heart's content

Garage List
Hi why not do what I have done

Bought a GSM device for my garage door about £30-£40

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GSM-Remote...3D121800531966

which is activated when you dial it from a mobile phone

For the i3 you assign a button to the number and on my i8 when I get I'll do the same

A chap who has an i8 with the universal remote who never got it to work advised me of this

Costs next to nothing to use and it automatically sends a text every month so as not to get deactivated (pay as you go sim)
