What's a good % off MSRP for an i3 REX?
After a couple of calls, I've got one at 5.7% and one at 4% off MSRP, before the December discounts. Both tell me that's just a little over invoice. My target is closer to 10% because that's what I keep reading.
Comments appreciated!

Not sure if that's still the case as they pulled back on production coming in the USA. The average I see now is about 2 to 5 k off msrp depending on price. 2k on base and 5k on fully loaded. and that seems to keep them moving from what my dealer tells me. |

The right ones would go roughly in the following order: 1). What is the dealer invoice price (cost) for the car I'm thinking of buying? 2). What discounts is BMW NA offering that drops dealer cost below invoice ($7.5K pass-through Fed rebate, promotions, etc, etc)? 3). How much over dealer cost should I pay (answer $500-$1K at most, since there are some back-end BMW NA dealer kick-backs that increase their profit even further)? I had researched #s for (1), but they are old and based on MY'14 pricing. Search the archives/internet for current MY'16 Invoice and MSRP price points. FWIW, I was at invoice + $500 on my car (~$11K of ~$47K MSRP i3). In reality, dealer made more than $500 on me, but back-end kick-backs are harder to track down. a P.S.: On MY'14 cars, MSRP to Invoice gap was 8% on base car, varied (from 7% to 14.3%) across various options.

In the end a few more grand off wasn't worth not getting what I wanted. If I'm going to spend good money I'm getting exactly what i want. Was still able to get 7k off msrp before the 7500 from the gov and 4K from the state. 18.5k off for a brand new car that's new to the market is crazy cool! Makes the i3 the same price as buying a new well optioned Mini Cooper lol !!!! |

Thanks for reaching out again. The i3 is still on my radar... I'm in the last stages of investigating various used cars (X1s, MINIs). Today I left my phone at home by accident, so no calls out
