iX with dealership: waiting for part thread

Thought I'd set up a thread for those of us whose car is waiting at the dealership for a part to come in. We can vent and express our feelings while we wait for Godot.

I've been without my car for 9 days now, and the part has been on order for 5 days. New head unit. No date. My X2 loaner has been upgraded to 545e. I'm on the list to get upgraded to a like-for-like car... what will come first? the part or the upgrade?

Anyone else out there in the same situation?

For what it's worth, the US-version of the head unit is not showing as an NOS or special order part so it should not take too long to get one. If it was a special order part it would be several weeks to several months...no one knows. I have a special order part request in at the moment since July and it looks like I'll be waiting for another 3 months.

Wow that's a long wait. Hope you got a decent loan car!

Thanks v much for the info / hope. How did you determine whether the part was NOS? (and can I ask what NOS means?)

Cheers!

Mine is waiting for a Water Pump that is apparently back-ordered till November. They are letting me keep it and drive it, though. Just said to avoid DC fast charging.

It's a cosmetic part so nothing that affects use of the car at all

Regards the part query, I access the parts database and it's noted in there if a part is custom order. NoS means Non Stock Item

Also as "New Old Stock," so there's that....
