Updated i8

Would anyone here be able to give some clarity on exactly when the i8 was updated with the larger capacity battery for increased range (and did this update also coincide with introducing Apple Car Play)?

I've heard it was in the 2019 cars but that these were actually the cars that came out in 2018.
Is that correct?
For those in the UK, what would be the first reg number to have this update? (18, 68, 19 etc..)

Thanks so much!

Some 18 plate cars have the bigger battery but you can always tell because of the smooth bonnet and the “Coupe” or “Roadster” badge on the rear three quarter panel (just in case you forget what you’re driving)!!

So to clarify, a car registered in early to mid 2018 could possibly be a 2019 model..
