I have that door trim in my car and understood that it was related to the trim level, I have embossed i8 logos on the headrests too although they are quite difficult to see now as the crispness has gone off them.
I assume that you can buy this section at the dealers, it will only clip in so should be an easy mod? |

When I purchased my car from new, I had the dealer fit these as a condition of the purchase. I remember he said they would have cost around GBP 500 if I had to buy them myself.

The BMW parts numbers for the left and right side are: 51472006641 51472006642
A seller in the US is offering the pair for $649USD plus shipping. https://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-OEM-I12...item2ad3065d9f These are held in with clips. You should be able to pull up on the old ones, transfer the clips to the new ones or purchase new clips. RealOEM shows 14 clips (although I don't know the actual number required) with part number: 07149349760 https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...99#51472006641
