I've driven Teslas with it, and its MUCH more stressful using it than driving myself.

I agree it's not perfect, but far from a looming accident, the past 13 months of autopilot use have been sublime, especially in traffic.

It may be worth another test drive, if you're remotely interested. It continues to evolve and is still worlds ahead of any other autonomous tech I've driven or sold at BMW and Mercedes, for example.

Tesla's look so boring though.

I saw a new model 3 yesterday and honestly a new Camry looks more exotic :

could not agree more: can't dismiss Tesla's technical prowess but why oh why do they make these cars look soooooo bland and boring. They really look no better than run of the mill Jap low rent stuff.
For £100k cars, they could have made a bit of an effort. I am not saying that the German's hit the bull's eye every time in this dpt but at least they try.

Don't worry, Elon and his lawyers will make sure you get all the blame.

I second that. After a 16 coupe and a 19 roadster there is just no vehicle for the price (and even more important crazy low lease deals) that offers what an I8 does.

Here is hoping that the replacement comes out prior to my current I8 goes off lease in June of 2022. Otherwise I will be quite sad.

Same here, tried to look into various options, except Tesla, and yet to find an alternative. And I have the same car since 2014, old but good!

I like the nomenclature of “turbo” and “S” but it seems like it should apply to a car that actually has a “turbo”. However I have seen the term used to advertise the suction power of a vacuum cleaner.

When Porsche first started with the “Turbo” thing it was back in the 70’s. It might be getting a little trite now. Maybe they should call it something more modern like the “Porsche Taycan Electrocution S “or the “Porsche Taycan Tesla S” or better yet, because it weighs over 5,000 lbs a great description might be the “Porsche Taycan Electric Sled S”

I'm still hoping for a 1k Kg Z2M.
Love the i8, might keep it for a long time...

Nope. You can argue with Porsche about the model description. It is what it is...and its pretty spectacular I think!

Still waiting for the US allocations to drop... 4S and Turbo allocations are out, but still waiting for my TurboS allocation...

I'm considering this same move as the m8s price just isn't justifiable IMO

Could you sort of break down the transition- daily living- reactions etc in comparison to the i8?
