Recommended Diagnostic Scanner?

Any out there have a recommended OBD scanner to check what services are due for your i8? I'd prefer to know what work my car needs before going to a service center. Thanks all!

Hmm. You will get the important stuff via the connected app Info tab, incl. making an appointment (at least in Germany). I guess you want more detail, can't help there. Bought the service for 4 years inclusive and will just do what the car wants me to.

You can get a generic OBD Bluetooth adapter for about $12 and then use the FREE Torque app on your phone to basically do everything the $200 BMW OBD Device/App does (and so much more). This will give you access to GENERIC OBD information (as well as letting you design your own sport gauges etc for real time performance info).

If you want SPECIFIC BMW OBD information you will need to spend a bit more money ($180). This includes info/warnings/resets only supported by BMW vehicles:

For less than what you would pay for the BMW OBD Device/App, you can get BOTH a very flexible OBD Monitor and a BMW specific OBD Diagnostic instrument...

While browsing amazon, saw the Autophix BMW scanner was a little less expensive than the Foxwell. Any significant difference between the 2?

Best supporting adapter is the one from carly
https://www.mycarly.com/en/app/bmw

and then you can get their app and you can code and manipulate almost everything on the i3 or i8

I agree! I have used this extensively. It works great. I solved a nasty Fiat 500 issue with this combo.
