New Aston Martin DB11 - Gorgeous... but elegant?
No doubt it's a gorgeous and beautiful car, but it doesn't seem to have the same elegance and "classyness" of the DB9.

I would buy one... If the interior is a baby S-Class and the driving dynamic is a GT S with a twin turbo V12 with AMG love.. It will be epic

I think AM has lost it; each new model looks the same (although the Gaydon design was great when it came out), they have decade old in car tech and weigh too much.
I had a friendly tussle with an AM V8 Vantage 420 (special edition) and we were completely matched on a local country road; now this isn't some deluded fanboy spouting BS; they are matched to 60 and 100 and I have 150kgs less to deal with. So £140k 2 seater can't get ahead of a £30k 5 seater hatch. A similar priced Porsche, GTR, Ferrari, etc would utterly blitz me. |

Agreed. Lost the elegance. Not a fan of the floating roof and the front fender line from the bumper to the side trim. I think the DBS and new Vanquish has the best balance of elegance and aggression.

I think they need an image refresh. Ever since they lost their old designer (I'm not sure if he was a concept artist or what) to Ford, hence the new Ford Fusion grill, AM has needed to update their identity. Even the back of this thing looks like an F type. Gotta stay ahead of the posers and copycats.

That front fender looks terrible, and so do all those vents in the hood. There are just too many design details and not enough flow.
V8 Vantage is still my favourite. It may not be the fastest, but that is not what Astons are about IMHO. |

Interesting... the more I look at these pictures, the more it's starting to grow on me.
It still doesn't have the same "love-at-first-sight" that the DB9 gave me, nor do I see my father replacing his with this new one as this seems like it will appeal to a younger audience. I also want to see it in the flesh as pictures don't always do justice to a car with a complex shape.

I can sure understand as your 2002 V12 Vanquish was worth about 25k when you bought it, and the new DB11 is would cost you between 160-190,000. So, I would agree on price difference alone, but for those others who can afford to drop over 200k including taxes, etc., probably won't be looking down their noses at what some consider a good looking car. I agree looks are subjective, but why get so vociferous? It's still an Aston!

Agreed. No longer elegant.

Hate the headlight shape, the quarter panel vent is way too big, and the roof is a mess. The older cars were gorgeous and refined - this isn't.

Fixes near everything that was wrong with the DB10, which i cant stand to look at. Completely ruined that new JB movie for me...
Much more classic Aston, you don't need to switch things up when your cars are hands down the nicest looking in the world. Rear is still to sharp for me. DBS/vanquish rear was better. |
