Before I got my iX, I was highly skeptical of the weird-shaped steering wheel. Now that I have it, I love it and would not want to revert back to round.

But, I really like those M badges and the extra torque. Unless something really surprising comes along, I have my heart set on an LCI M70 when my current lease runs out.

Interesting you like the base wheel.

Years ago it would be MORE to have a funky wheel and now we are up charged 400 for the round one. Hahha

Big improvement! Not sure about the red accent on the wheel, but oh well.

I agree. I test drove the 25MY with the new steering wheel and trim and 24MY with the old steering wheel and bronze trim. I went with the 24 since this one had full leather and the colors and options I wanted, and it was a better deal (and leasing anyway). I did like the new steering wheel although the noon marker is unnecessary imho and it’s unnecessarily thick.

The seat memory button being a different finish than the rest of the seat controls looks like a mistake to me. I don't like it.

That the bean counters couldn’t be bothered to approve the bronze/trapezoid as an option on M60 is baffling.

Yes, I guess they think this is the "sportier" look. Weird since you can still get bronze exterior trim which then would match nothing unless you get the bronze trim wheels.

This is the fault of the product managers in BMW of North America. They are the ones who deicide which individual features come to the US & Canada, how they are bundled, and how they are priced. Morons.

By the time I order my LCI M70, I hope the come back around to:
  • Restoring the crystal on the seat memory buttons
  • Option for the funky steering wheel
  • Bronze exterior trim
  • Bronze (or even better, wood) interior trim
  • Wood center console panel

Bronze exterior trim is still available as an option, and the luxury package still includes the wood center console panel. Hopefully the LCI doesn't change these. I would love the side panel M logos as other countries receive, but I think for some reason that will never happen.

Especially on that car

That feature is now part of the DAPP for 2025. OP is in Europe, so I don't know if that feature is enabled outside the US. But if you get a 2025 with DAPP then yes, you should have that.

Aaaah, I totally missed that. So the features and stuff we see in those pictures might have nothing to do with the North American configurations (like missing crystal on the memory buttons, black center console panel with crystal accoutrements, etc.).

the steering is identical to X1 X2 iX1 iX2
Its almost the same in 5 series , the only difference is that the buttons are finished in some glossy material at 5 series while in X1 etc the buttons are just plastic

That car needed something more premium than that, at least the steering from 5 series

Yes, quite true. Although when I configured a 2025 on the US website it seems that the seat buttons were still in the titanium and not crystal (with the luxury package added), but it's not entirely clear.

It’s also possible to order an iX M60 without the Luxury Package. So I wonder if there is a way to configure both with or without the wood console?

Not sure I understand your question, but no luxury package = no wood center trim.
