i3 and car seats?

Hey everyone, so my wife has been thinking about getting out of her Volt lately and the i3 came up as a possibility. That said, we have a 3 and 5 year old, so I was just wondering how well the car accommodates car seats and the like. Our one complaint about the Volt is that the interior is a bit cramped.

TIA!

The rear accommodates car seats just fine. It is kind of tough getting in and out in a tight space with the suicide doors though.

We have 2 big cushy Maxi Cosi car seats in the back of the i3 for our 4.75 and 3.5 year olds. Its pretty roomy back there, better than my M5 or 135 vert, and not that much different than the X5, but we have slimmer Diono seats in the X5.

FWD facing car seats work great, especially when kids are old enough to climb in and buckle themselves.
Rear-facing seats could be a challenge, depending on how far back your front seats are positioned. But that is unlikely to be your problem, given kids' ages.

If you have to assist them with buckling, the room in the back is tight. You will need to both open the rear suicide door, and flip the front seat out of the way to gain full access. Doable, but PITA, and will get old fast.

i3 front row space is great, and driver view is really good.
Rear is very cramped, and good for 2 kids only (seat-level cup holder in the middle).
