Ok went back and took some close up shots. As you will see it looks cool from 10 feet away until you see the close ups

As I've said before to use the term paint is kind of misleading. It's more of a wrap.

I get it, it's a showpiece for CES, but still.

Did you even watch the 3rd video in the first post?
They showed you exactly how it was made.

And they never advertised it as "paint".
They called it a wrap themselves:
"The fluid colour changes are made possible by a specially developed body wrap that is tailored precisely to the contours of the all-electric Sports Activity Vehicle from BMW."

Lol. That's all they are calling it here !

Jesus ! I'm at the frigging show man and seeing it first hand. " Come see the color changing paint " they say

Even all the media is calling it a paint ! One person on the forum even mentioned it was clear coated afterwards witch I don't see how that could have been possible as it's not that shiny.

Not wasting my time watching all the bmw films as I'm at the show and see it first hand.

Just showing people the close ups.

God take a chill pill.

I'm
Familiar with the technology but again everyone's calling it paint so I was just telling others is a wrap and took some closeups to settle some miss information that was going on.

As you can see just a quick search results in everyone calling it paint. So I just wanted to clear that up with the closeup shots.

I'm still not sure how certain people are forgetting this, but.. we're living in a time where it's about... doing anything to become a conversation. Even if it means reaching a point of defying all common logic to provoke a perspective of innovation.

Well… the “wrap” is peeling off ….
How many pieces of “wrap” are falling off in 0-60…

I thought your pics were really useful to illustrate how the wrap looks!

Thank you.

And I agree, everybody is calling it paint.

Interesting concept, but it's a hard no for me. Like so many mentioned about it being a wrap, issues wreck my brain … replacing them wrecks my brain and maintenance may be an issue etc. just not worth all that effort and money and headaches personally
