If it moves when you gas it, and it stops when you brake, then you can track it!

It's actually safer than driving on a public street because no one is being an idiot and driving while texting, eating, putting on makeup etc. There are no pedestrians, and no intersections, and no opposing traffic. Everyone is going the same direction, and everyone is supposed to be hyper aware of what's happening. Collisions are actually VERY rare and in my 2 years of tracking I have yet to see any cars collide with another car in an HPDE (high performance driving event).

Wheel-to-wheel racing is a whole other category that requires a racing license, and you won't have to worry about that if at all. There is plenty of car contact there.

Anyway, it's a lot of fun, can get expensive in consumables if you go often (tires, brakes), but well worth it.

Thanks for the feedback, I feel silly doing it as well because mine is an automatic. When I shared that with him he said don't be.

He also said they put an experienced volunteer driver in the passenger seat in the beginning, he volunteers to do this.

jsanatx, the first step in recovery is admitting that you have a problem. I have jumped of the train by selling unneeded bags and am down to three. One holds everything, one is the largest allowed in an overhead bin and the other is for small inconspicuous jobs.

That's a nice looking bag! On that note I absolutely destroyed my camera bag last week on a gnarly hike through jungle, mud, and mosquitos. It looks like an elephant with Crohn's disease took a shit on on it after slumming at a cheap buffet. Anyone just thrown their entire bag in the washing machine?!

lol, I also got rid of all the bags, except 3. Smallish Lowepro for quick jobs, Med Lowepro for short hikes and the 30L Shimoda for trips and long hikes. Has been taking a little abuse in the snow and elements the last week or so and its held up like a boss.

Exactly, I tracked my X1 for 5 years and never got anything but positive attention. I even brought one of my daughters out in my wife's old 2002 Camry.

Bottom line is racers don't care what you drive and especially love seeing non-typical vehicles out there!

The last track day I went to there was my 335xi, a Dodge Viper, a BMW 135, an Ariel Atom, a 2021 Corvette, a Porsche Cayman, a Toyota GT86, a Subaru WRX, a VW Golf automatic driven by a 63 year old woman and 800hp stock car along with a bunch of other various cars with drivers of various experience. The stock car was given some solo track time because A) its closing speed on most of the other cars. B) the driver was testing something with the suspension setup. and C) the car has pretty miserable visibility from the drivers seat. At this particular track day overtaking was restricted to the start/finish straight and the back straight, and not without the driver you were overtaking acknowledging your intention with a wave out the window. Overtaking on the corners was not permitted.
I mention all this to explain that track days are very accommodating to everyone that pays the entry fee and has a roadworthy car. I highly recommend attending and driving a track day at your local track. You'll have a blast.

I saw an X5 on the track just a few weeks ago. Unfortunately it spun out into the dirt.

Thanks everyone. My buddy sent me some links to read/review and suggested I meet up with him and some of his track buddies for a beer to hear their stories.

I just moved in so I basically bought Ikea

I promised myself I'd get a baller desktop setup once I got a full time job, and I did - ended up reusing most parts from my now-old desktop but also got a new monitor. 34" ultrawide, 1440p, 165hz....

I'll post a picture in a bit!

Bought one of these standing LED strip lamps to try out. If I like it, I'll buy another and put both in the bedroom.

Please tell me you bought it from Aliexpress.

After seeing countless ads for it on facebook for $120+ I looked it up on Aliexpress. It's literally half the price if not less... It's cool, I've been meaning to get one too, but I'm not about to pay that much when I can wait the same amount (since its all drop shipped anyway lol) and pay considerably less.

I did not buy from ali. I actually bought from amazon, I think it was $89. I did look on ebay but they were pretty much the same price as what I got. I'm still a bit skeptical when it comes to buying from ali. I am excited about my lights though. I'll post pics once I have it/them.

Oh no way! I just checked ali - it's $40-50+60 shipping. Can you send me the link to the Amazon?

I might get two and put them next to the nightstands if it's good; i need to figure out lighting. Moved in recently so all lighting I have are the ones in the ceiling fans lol
