Another i8 coupe or Roadster? Cant decide

my lease on my i8 coupe is finished in 1 month and I love the car. I just cant seem to make a decision whether to get another coupe this time in ecopper leather or get a roadster.I use the back seats on the coupe sometimes for grocery bags or my kid sister if she hangs out with my girlfriend and I.

The roadster has no space for groceries minus the small trunk where I keep my gym bag. Also I have not driven a convertible before and have no idea where wind noise is a pain in the ass while driving on the highway with the top down.

Can someone who has a roadster on these forums give me their review of it. Thanks.

Test drive pal! One man's meat is another man's poison.

Eg Some report seat and pedal distances different in roadster, some don't. Some report squeaks, some don't.

No better judge than yourself

That's it.

As I am a bit tall I don't like the limited seat adjustability in the roadster.

What kind of squeeks?

I am more worried about othwr stupud things.. myhair on the crown thinned a little and I am wondering if driving with the roof down and wind above would destroy my hairstyle and make the thinning obvious

Same here. I'm similar height and the Roadster is too tight for me. I could drive it in a pinch but it wouldn't be comfortable. The coupe on the other hand has plenty of legroom and headroom, 200 mile drives were no problem.

I had the 2015 coupe and now have the 2019 Roadster. I have owned many convertible. I have to say the wind noise in the i8 is one of the most civilized I have ever had. Keep in mind there WILL be wind noise, but it is in no way annoying or excessive. You can carry one a conversation and control how much wind you feel by lowering or raising the read wind deflector glass.

You definitely will no longer have the option of carrying your kid sister in the back, and there is less storage. There are three good sizes compartments behind the seats for some things (like groceries or small bags for trips), but obviously more room in the back seats. The rear trunk is identical in size.

What I will tell you is that the coupe when you are driving feels more "spacious" in the interior due to the back seats, but the Roadster is more "cozy" and cockpit like. The loss of back seats really changes the feel of the interior as you drive. I thought I would miss the back seats and the feel, but because I really wanted the convertible went ahead anyway. And now I don't think I would ever look back.

So definitely at least seat inside both.
