220 Extension Cord recommendation

I just purchased the BMW TurboCord Charger. Would like to use an extension cord to connect this to my 220 outlet to this charger.

My question are as followed:

1. Is it safe to use an 220 extension cord to connect to an Level 2 charger?
2. What type of extension cord rating and specifications I should look for
3. Any brand specific extension cord I should purchase and stay away from.

Technically no, the manual says not to use a cord with the charger.

If you HAVE to, the TurboCord requires a NEMA 6-20 plug on a 220/240 20a circuit, but really runs at I think like 18a. At a minimum you would need a cord +5a for every 6-10 feet. For 6 feet or less you might be ok with a 20a extension cord. Not sure if there are NEMA 6-20 cords, surely they aint cheap. Could always make your own.

I'm sure you wouldnt be the first to do it.

Thanks Bagekko for your input.

The spec for the dual 110/220 dual charger is rated for level 2 at 3.6kWh/per hour but I think it is charging at twice of the spec rating at 7.2kW/per since my 2014 i3 battery capacity is at 33kWh (per i3 user manual).

Is my calculation correct?
33kWh divided by 7.2kWh = 4.5 hrs (full charge) this is my experience.

The BMW Turbo Cord is not level 2, its like level 1.5 as some of us call it. It takes more like 9-10 hours to fully charge the 33kw 94a battery from empty.
