eDrive Usage Poll
I happen to love the bi-modal drive capabilities of the i8. As my daily driver and given my daily commute, I probably use eDrive more than most people so it made sense for me to install a level 2 charger in my garage. I'm curious to know what percentage of the time do people use battery only, eDrive?

I use it on every drive, specially if I can run the entire trip on eDrive. For longer drives I will let the i8 decide the usage, and its interesting to watch the choices it makes when I do have Nav guidance activated. But I will almost always override on the tail end of a drive if I can get there on eDrive only. But of course have to balance this by making sure if engine does start it runs to temperature.
One of the draws to the 2019 roadster was the extended range/battery, but I have seen contradictory real world increases. |

Do you mean what proportion of your mileage is in E Drive or on what proportion of your journeys do you engage E Drive for some of the journey? If the former probably about 40%, if the latter, 100%!

My intent was to reflect the % of miles driven in eDrive vs. Comfort or Sport.

Something about getting to your destination without running the engine is really cool.
I came from a large displacement, loud Audi R8. I find I’m a lot less fatigued after a road trip in the i8. When I need a bit of spirited driving, it’s just a shift lever away. I hope the next i8 is all electric. |

What of my many favorite things about the i8 is the ability to be sporty or drop to dead silent electric. I love my Alfa but after a while I get sick of the loud (starts out fun). The Tesla Roadster is quite but runs out of oommmph at 70-80. With i8 I can have any kind of car I want in one single drive.

Thanks for clarifying. I‘m not sure I know which option is correct for me. Just this: my lifetime mpg in 3.5 years of ownership and just over 20k miles driven is 60. Assuming the car’s normal mpg is somewhere around 30, this would suggest that I drive about half the time in e-mode. So I obviously drive a lot of short distances and often do so fully electric.
