Are you trying to charge your phone through USB? Why not connect directly to the USB port in the middle console? That is what I do.

There's an adapter for the center console for your phone charger. The dealership will have a couple of different kinds.

Anyone find a power adapter for the center console that allows it to be shut. I have radar detectors, and dvr cameras on my dash, need to power them. Doesn't seem either one of these turn off when switched off, seems all time power.

The USB ports don't provide enough power. You will need an ACC port and a dedicated USB charger for a full 2.4A of usb charging power.
I've tried all of these options below and they all fit/work in the i8 Console with the cover closed. (Its a stupid design) Get a low profile USB charger: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 And use a USB charging cable (M-F) with an angled head: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ..or a 90 degree USB adapter: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Much cleaner look that way, not that hard to do if doing it yourself, or should not be too much $ to get someone to do it. |

The fuse box only requires unscrewing TWO screws and its easily accessible (right under the glove box). Then you can run your wiring up the A-Pillar right behind the trim and rubber door seals. No need to remove any trim panels, just tuck it in... Here is the micro-fuse tap: https://www.amazon.com/10-Pack-Add-c...de+Fuse+Holder
