Boot not closing
Hi all,
I'm suddenly having real problems closing my boot. It'll shut but for whatever reason the latch isn't taking hold. Now I've managed to get it to close by giving it quite a forceful slam, but that's not something I want to repeat every time! Is this a common issue with an easy fix? I don't want to spray a lot of WD40 in their without knowing if it's going to screw anything up. Many thanks |

There is an emergency boot (trunk) release inside the boot (it is a small handle on a string) - sometimes when I pack luggage, the luggage winds up pulling on it and the glass will not stay latched. Perhaps this is what happening?

I'll take a look. I'm surprised there's an emergency release. I've not met anyone who would fit in the boot! |

Actually I’ve also found that when that emergency release is dangling free, the trunk will act like it’s open but not actually pop up. Another annoying thing. Clearly that thing is very sensitive maybe?

So, I was finally brave enough to open the boot again and it's still not shutting properly. I've also not got an emergency release cable installed as I'm in the UK and it's not a requirement here, so something else must be at fault. Time to take it to the dealers I think
