I would have thought so as well. There are lots of AWD cars out there with variable front / rear power distribution - all Audi quattros, for instance. It shouldn't matter what the nature of the power source is.

Trying to figure out how to upload the videos. Our results were a bit inconsistent because we were in a rush to get the race done. We weren't in the best area or time to attempt to race but we gave it a shot. But I'd say in our cleanest race he put at least 3 cars on me.

Seat of the pants and head to head race reports are as follows: from the driver's seat the car felt completely normal in Eco and comfort. Kicking it to sport and stepping hard on the gas the car still feels pretty much like a stock i8 initially but soon you notice that the car is pulling a lot harder at speeds where the electric motor isn't assisting as much. During our race the tuned car was getting a slight jump on me (I attribute that to the increased torque) then as speed climbed the gap kept getting bigger thanks to his extra 56whp.

Assuming a 15% drive train loss, the car should have 422 hp and close to 500 ft-lb. That sounds a lot better than the measly 357 HP
Now where's the video Very excited about this, but I don't want to come to Miami for a tune Maybe we should start a new thread once you get your tune so we don't hi-jack the OP's thread. |

This could be quite interesting, if it remains civilized under normal conditions, but provides extra punch when you push it.
Heck, BMW should be offering this. The more cars the i8 can embarrass on the Autobahn, the more it will be admired. ;-) Okay, this is the old, non efficiency minded petrol head me talking. ;-) |
