Probably the worst pain i've ever experienced...

Was working on the car, i had my hand on the spokes of the rim, reached for a tool and slipped and held on to the rim and it spun and smashed my finger between the brake caliper and spoke. I smashed my toe last year from a falling dumbbell...that was painful, this was worse..

i know i got dirt in my nails, but that's normal when u work on cars...

i've gotten a beer bottle smashed over my head, i crashed my bike and broken my ankles, a friend ran into my leg with his bike...none of that comes close to smashing a finger...shit hurts like a bitch

when i push the nail in towards my finger, i can feel tingling sensation, i guess im gonna lose this nail for sure...it's swelled up to twice its size now and is rockhard, i'll take an updated pic tomorrow

did you relieve the pressure by letting the blood out?? i smashed my thumb in the door 2 years ago and heated a paper clip up till it was glowing orange and made a hole in the middle of my nail and all the pressure was released and it felt much better.

Ice it down. For sure you will lose it. That's blood under the nail. Hopefully it dries up fast so you won't feel the pain. I'm thinking 2-4 months before a new nail fully grows.

I had this happened to my toe nail, didn't as hurt as much when not touched.

Yup this nail is gone, take it to your doctor. That happened to my toe once, and I lost the nail.

okay my left ring finger now looks like my big toe, it's huge and purple and black. Theres so much pressure and blood build up in there that makes me very uncomfortable. i want to pop it and let the blood out, is that recommended?

Thank god im right handed and can still use it to wipe my ass and jerk off...

Those guys above said it feels better after you poke a hole. In fact, that's generally a rule of thumb. I always feel better after I poke a hole.
