Front suspension refresh

I just finished refreshing the front suspension on my 2015 REX with 140,000km

Will take care of the rear suspension next spring.

Not a terrible job to be honest just the sway bar links with the torx bit that are painful to remove.
Also the top mount on both sides after removing the bolts it was incredibly seized and required quite a bit of persuasion to remove.

I went with the following parts:

- Bilstein B4 struts
- Lesjofors Springs
- Sachs top mounts
- Moog Sway bar links
- Genuine BMW for the hardware

Nice job! Much difference in ride quality and handling?

Definitely a much better ride, you can tell right away. I highly recommend the upgrade if approaching 100k miles or so.

And for handling hard to say since I got the car aligned the next day and steering felt tighter.

Looking forward to do the rear suspension next year to complete the upgrades.

I have a 2014 with 62k miles. The handling is great, but I think the ride quality could be a bit better. Will look into replacing them in a year or two. I pro-actively replaced the 12v battery this summer, it was still original.

I bet the short wheel base does not help with ride quality but worth checking your struts, specially they might wear out quicker than expected when the boots disintegrate.

I got my 2015 about 6 months ago and it came with a recently replaced 12v batter so covered on that front.
My next big ticket to check is the motor mounts and see if worth it to change them.

The boots on mine appear to be fine still. I check them every time I swap out winter/summer wheels. Will be doing that again in about a week or so. Cooler temps are late this year
