Been driving my BEV for 2 weeks and didn't even notice till today at first I thought maybe I just needed to enable it, but I guess it's a paid service now?

I believe the first few years are free. 3 from what I heard. So your 2015 might have ended. Personally, I've never used rtti since I use Waze, but I do like and use the Connected app.

I'm not sure. It still works in both my i3 and my M3.

Some "prepaid" period is usually included with new BMW purchase. The length of that period varies by model.
I think it was ~3 years on my M3, maybe 1 year on the i3. The challenge with BMW's build-in nav are outdated maps and persistently weird rout selection. On most of my long trips, BMW's nav picks a rout inferior to Google's, so I end up relying on Google Nav to over-ride BMW directions. I do like M3's nav integration into heads-up-display, but even there, when there is traffic, I launch Google Maps. Consequently, I can't recommend paying for BMW's RTTI service. Even if it gets as good of traffic updates and Google, BMW's nav system makes a mess of rout selection afterwords. a
