I was able configure a near fully loaded M50 for less than $75K... not bad.

US Configurator Open

The Premium package for the i40 can't be added when the Parking Assistant Package is selected. I guess I won't add the Iconic Sounds.

Here's my build:

I like that blue. Pretty sweet. I do wish there was an all black wheel option for the M50, but either way this is my build that will be put through my dealer when they open up this morning: https://www.bmwusa.com/build-your-ow...dh2xkp/summary

I did a configuration at hit about $65,000 for a very well equipped i40. But, I also just called BMWNA and they have no info (yet) about a base price adjustment for $401 to qualify for the tax credit. On indefinite hold here and want to sit in a Gran Coupe first anyway.

I'm very close to the same situation. I believe my dealer has Grand Coups on the floor and will be sitting in one on Monday.

I hit some unusual restriction doing a test configuration. If I try to add Drive Recorder or Parking Assistant, it wants to delete the premium package or drive assistant. This is either a website mistake, chip issue, or the recorder and parking assistant is included in one of the other packages (although there is no documentation saying so).

Under the finance tab, it automatically populates at 0.9% APR. Is that going to be offered? I thought I read it was 1.9%.

Cooling and High Performance Tire Package $2,500

"Enhance the cooling performance of your vehicle with a more powerful cooling fan and an additional engine oil cooler. High-performance tires will match the aggressive racing pedigree with improved traction, reduced stopping distance and enhanced dynamic response. Mobility kit is included."

More powerful cooling fan maybe, but an engine oil cooler in an EV?

I think that's a bit over the top and a money grab. I don't think many people will be taking their i4 to the track.

Nice. Love the Tanzanite Blue. One question. Why the 20" wheels over the 19"?

Might as well add ventilated seats at this point. It's a drop in the bucket and might help with resale value

Not concerned about the range and like the wide tires for traction and performance.

Also the brakes are bigger with the package.

If I get worried about range, I can always reduce the width of the tires and go down to a 265 in the rear and a 245 or 255 in the front on the same 20" wheels. That's when I buy the first set of tires

The width of a tire on a 20" wheel will have a minimal effect, if anything noticeable, on range. The issue is the rotating mass of the 20" wheel and tire, remedied by lighter weight wheels, whether forged 20s or cast/forged 19s.

Is anyone expecting to negotiate below MSRP? I haven't bought a new BMW in 9 years!

I expect to.
At least a couple of grand.
I've been going to this same dealer for more than a decade for service. They have been servicing two cars.

We shall see. I definitely am not paying more than MSRP. My dealer is also on the California instant rebate list

You lose the adjustable bolsters with the ventilated seats. If the adjustable side bolsters didn't go away, I would add the ventilated seats.

It wasn't a cost thing. It was a functionality thing.
I was initially going for the CF package but decided that I liked the gloss black better.

I'll get the mirror covers later along with front splitter and an aftermarket rear valence insert.

For $2800 I expected the valence to be carbon. It isn't. only the outside sections are carbon with the package.

Under $70k, I'm impressed. Finally an electric car that isn't 6 figures that is worth looking at:

In case of that you're interested, you can get a rough range estimation under different road types, temps, and whether the AC is on or not: https://www.bmw.no/no/all-models/bmw...kevidde-lading (use Chrome to translate the page).

Nope.no dash option on the build sheet.
I am going to ask if 4M5 can be ordered.
Also no piano black trim.

The configuration, for the most part, mirrors the M440iX.

It's not a deal breaker, just like we don't get the full M seats as an option. The EU does on the other hand. The EU treats it as a full M car with similar options like dash, seats and piano black trim.

Here in the US it just looks like a package on the i4.
