Not quite. jonjo001 was correct.
iX is built on the CLAR platform, albeit a very heavily modified one - e.g. no transmission tunnel unlike i4. But it still based on the CLAR platform nonetheless, unlike i8. And it is manufactured in Dingolfing plant along side all the other CLAR platform cars (4, 5, 6, 7, 8 series cars). It is also true it is bespoke and that no other car will be using this heavily modified platform, as BMW is transitioning to the Neue Klasse platform.
