Hey guys,

Contemplating purchase of a iX50 to replace my G30 530d.

3 specific questions for iX actual users / BMW geniuses :

* automatic software upgrades : anyone has experience of this ? Is it as seamless as in Teslas ? Will it work towards iDrive 9 and next or only for iDrive 8 updates ?
* panoramic roof insulation : how efficient is it in the sun ? hotter than plain roof ?
* massage seats : is it possible to override the max. 20 minutes limit ? Might seam pointless but I'm a huge fan of massage and it's constantly on in my G30 (limit is 60 minutes).

Remote software upgrades will only be available for the system on your car which is iDrive 8. You can't upgrade iDrive versions to a higher version with an update.

I can't speak personally but the roof does have several layers of glass and foil and more fancy stuff in it for the tint layer and for rejecting heat from entering in

Panoramic roof is HOT!!! We're not even in the heat of the summer in MD and it's much hotter than any glass roof I've had before.

This is the first one I plan on tinting and I've owned them in multiple Teslas, BMWs, Volvo, F150 etc.
