Somewhat hypocritical considering Lewis is quite happy to accept money/promote Ineos which invested $2 billion in Saudi.

Facts tend to spoil a curated narrative.

Also the stalled car headed into the pit entrance, and maybe the personnel in the midst of running to retrieve the car. Hard to say what was happening

The drivers handle sponsorships and have a say in which ones get accepted/denied?

Wow, I guess they do everything.

Absolutely fair. I'd fancy a look at any business/marketing relationship worth $20m+ that doesn't involve some puke-worthy level of hypocrisy.

F1 was correct and fair as well in their assessment that the F1 presence in the country HAS made a difference in the trajectory of women's rights. It, as most things are, is so complicated.

I think Lewis certainly has a big say in it. He's a 7 time champion. It wouldn't be hard for them to get replacement sponsors. There's definitely people above him but I think he has a big say no doubt.

Do not know nor care if he does, just providing the fact that he is paid 1/3 of his compensation by a company that does business in SA. So if he feels strong enough about an issue, he would provide a great example by donating 1/3 of his compensation and 1/3 of his F1 car performance (no need to include the W13) to support his viewpoint. As Americans say, “put your money where your mouth is.”

Agree about PR, disagree about SA. I think the could find suitable replacements for both.

I dislike PR very much as well though.

Like anyone would ever do that.

You act like they pay him directly, and it's not some big operation with marketing teams and owners and management that deal with that shit.

Looking the Sainz's complaint that Perez impeded his exit from the pits after studying the pic I think stewards are splitting hairs. Perez's car was a few inches ahead from the pic on m/sports .com at the angle of the bend where the pit lane white line ends.

if its that close then the guy on track who pitted first before safety car/red flag should get the nod. he got shafted in that race as it is.
