Will 2024 lease prices drop since 2025's are going into production soon?

I gave my dealer a build for a 2024 (waiting for confirmation) the day info came out about 2025’s.

The only change I am curious in is the M steering wheel on 2025 models as Im not too crazy on the current IX wheel (doesnt bother me though as much as my X6M wheel does)

Wondering if I might as well go with the 2024 and hope the lease price drops since 2025’s will be coming out very shortly

How long do you want to wait?

If your dealer gets an allocation now for a 2024, you could have your car in April or May with a known good lease deal. It might be at least 6 months before you see an 2025 iX. By then, anything could happen with lease deals - better or worse.

The current deals are so good that an incremental improvement might be slight. On the other hand, there is no cap on how bad they could get.

Yep my dealer has an allocation. I was under the impression 2025’s will be available end of April/May which is roughlt how long the build will take for my 2024 (10-12 weeks)

Also curious if 2025 will have idrive 9 and curious about the M steering wheel

It's all the guesswork of when they flip the manufacturing line and then when your dealer would get a 2025 allocation for you...

If your dealer has a 2024 allocation now, is it for a February or March build? Add another couple months to the allocation's build month to estimate when you might get delivery - so likely arrival would be April or May for a 2024 you ordered right now.

If your dealer could give you a 2025 Allocation in a week for a March build, then maybe you would see that in May. But, if your dealer cannot get you an allocation right away, add increments of months to when you would see it. For example, if your first available allocation was for a May build, the you might not see it until July.

Bird in the hand...

If I were to guess, the net lease costs will stay the same with the 2025; residuals will increase a bit, offset by a slight increase in MF. The fact of the matter is BMW will not continue to move the IX at current numbers without a pretty aggressive lease program. Pragmatically there is no difference between the two model years. Perhaps your property taxes and insurance might be slightly less over time on a 2024 because of how depreciation is factored.

buddenfan, given your multiple threads on two boards regarding your pre-order, we're all pretty invested in this so...don't keep us in suspense...details please regarding what you actually ordered. And congrats. And...imo, forget the 2025s, just sit back, take a deep breath, relax, track your 2024 order from time to time, and...enjoy the process.

Beautiful. So, M60 or x50?

I got an x50, but wanted an M60. But, there were no allocations, and I am impatient. In retrospect, thanks to the stop sale, had I waited for an M60 allocation, I probably would have had it the same time as my car arrived. And, the bronze exterior trim was the one thing I wish I had added to my build. It gives the exterior a nice POP.

Having owned a 50 and a 60, I can confirm there's no noticeable difference in the day-to-day experience. If you're constantly flooring it, then sure, but the odds of keeping your license or your life if that's your driving strategy aren't great.

You're not missing anything; the meaningful differences you'll notice are in the options you choose, but that said, I **do** love the startup growl the 60 makes

OK, let's all prepare for a new series of threads asking everyone how long they took to move through each step of production.

Seriously, though, congrats. It's a great vehicle - especially the M60. Did you go for DAPP? Luxury package?

I would ask: are the 2025s going to have a native NACS charging port to allow for direct connect to Tesla Superchargers without an adapter?

There was no mention of this in the announcement, so the speculation is no.

I think this is unlikely. Most of the automakers are gaining Supercharger access this year with a commitment to move to the NACS plug in 2025. Nobody is likely to switch cars to NACS plugs ahead of SC access.

BMW is not getting SC access until 2025. Therefore, I doubt we will see NACS ports before the 2026 model year cars.

I just saw that it is possible to order IAS for the ix50 on the Belgian site. And a new option to order dark silver inserts with the new M sport steering wheel. And black exterior trim only with sport exterior and not with the base.

iX will not be getting iDrive 9. Both iDrive 8.5 and iDrive 9 are pretty much the same newest version of the iDrive but for two different flavors of the operating systems used by BMW. iDrive 9 is for Android based models based on the Mini platform like X1 and X2. iDrive 8.5 is for all other Linux based models like X5/6, X7, iX etc. The two are almost the same except that iDrive 9 has an Android App Store.

Very nice. You’re only missing the iBlue seatbelts, but you can’t get those with the chestnut interior.

I had a 2024 iX on order as of January and was scheduled for a week 9 production (waited since last November for that allocation). Just got word this morning from BMW Genius that the car has been changed to a 2025 week 14 production. They believe this is due to “production issues” with the 24’s. Confirmed with my SA and they are honoring the same deal we had in place for the ‘24. I’m not seeing anything yet for ‘25 lease incentives. Has anyone else had similar updates on their build? I know the 25’s are supposed to start production in March, so I’m thinking that might be the reason they pushed my build?

Same thing here. I actually snagged a 2024 allocation early this month (have the build sheet and everything confirming 2024). I called BMW genius 2 weeks ago and they told me my build date was 2/26 but last week that all changed. Now the same car is listed as a 2025 with build date of April 1. So it seems BMW has decided to cease any further 2024 production and convert all those orders to 2025s.

My salesperson said they will still honor our agreed upon deal but what about the $9,900 rebate from BMW?! Nobody sems to know if the 2025s will qualify. Scary.
