Materrazi is the one who started it....we all saw that he didn t let zidane play ....he is the one that desserve the red warning

he insulted zidane mom and sister.....son of a b... terrorist..........while zidane `s mom was in the hospital...

moreover zidane was expulsed after they checked the video .....which is completly forbidden by the fifa `s reglementation

since the beginnig of the game the italian team was violent....just see what happend to Henry and to zidane shoulder.....no fair play at all

I read an update. Materazzi is being looked into, he apologized, denied it, but don't believe the "I don't even know what an Islamic terrorist is" line.

Seems like he's trying to downplay what really happened. Zidane apologized for doing it (esp for the kids who saw it), but does not regret it, which I think some people thought he would. France is supporting Zidane, and I think most people are in general on this one.

Give me a break...of course France is supporting Zidane and Italy is supporting Materazzi....ever play any sports my friends?? Players often trade crude barbs about sisters and mothers...nothing to get upset about...the fact that this is getting so much air time is ludicrous....the bored press should give it an effing rest....Zidane overreacted as he has in the past - of course I would not have given him a red card, just a warning...let them duke it out later off the field like men....instead of wussies....

Uh... I played soccer 6 years. You don't need to question me on sports. But I know right from wrong, and while trash talking can occur and is almost expected, racism is not. From what little I know, admittedly, of the world cup, but learning about this whole thing Materazzi has a bad history himself.

And it isn't just France that is supporting him.

I agree - those sissy dives were becoming quite nauseating...although I can tell you from experience some of those shin kicks and elbows to the head can be quite painful...broke my nose (playing varsity socccer) when I tried to head a ball and the only thing that connected with my head was an opponent's foot....
