Acura NSX vs BMW i8: Battle of Hybrid Sports Cars
BIMMERPOST NEWS Acura NSX vs BMW i8: Battle of the hybrid hell-raisers Alex Goy reviews the recently launched Acura NSX against the BMW i8. While they're not quite equal on power or performance (573 hp in NSX to the BMW's 357 hp and 3.0s 0-60 in NSX vs 4.4s 0-62 in i8), the two compete in the same hybrid electric sports car category and at a similar price range (NSX starts at $156k, i8 starts at $140k). The BMW i8 does beat the RSX on weight as it weighs 3400-3500 lbs to the RSX's 3800-3900 pounds. How does the i8 stack up in the real world despite being down on specs? Drove them both, preferred the i8. Sure the Honda performs way better but that's not really why I'd buy a hybrid. I like to mix of hybrid use and performance. In terms of raw performance and feeling special, my 458 blew the NSX out of the water. Plus it's a Honda and you can really tell.

The RSX weighed around 2800 lbs, and has been discontinued since 2006.

I'm not really surprised that the i8 beats the RSX in any category

I test drove the nsx great car but other than power the car is not superior than the i8 (it's a Honda, drives like one, feels like one) great car don't get me wrong but it feels cheap next to the BMW... I'll stay with my tuned i8 at 3.9sec 0-60

For the money, the i8 doesn't hold a cradle against the new NSX.
The i8 is anemic compared to the NSX and doesn't sound even vaguely as good. With that said, i'd still rather a "real" NSX:
