Real Bimmerfans know about how different the approaches of BMW concept cars can be. Some are for design purposes, some are "Technologieträger" - pure tech concepts where design is 2nd row or far future.
iNext seems to be the latter. I'm sure the final design will be different even though for my taste it may stick with the general i design. Here's a nice overview about BMW concept cars. From cry ugly to awesome beauty |

Very exciting project this.
Really look forward to see how the car will actually look and if any of the vision features make it into production. |

So I went the auto show today and this car was not there. I asked one of the eye candy women and they said that I was sent to Miami. 🤔

Tesla’s gross profit margin on Model 3 is currently over 20% according to their latest quarterly earnings report in October which is huge. It’s a very profitable car for them now, not so much in the beginning of production but your data us outdated. They were making less than 5% for a while but have been able to push profitability up rapidly. |

The lowest priced Model 3 is $46,000 with no options. If you don't get the $5,000 Autopilot option, there is no point in buying the Tesla. So really the lowest price Model 3 is $51,000. Count in 5 years of fuel savings (Tesla speak) it's still $39,200.

So in simple math that's over 1.1 million Model 3 to be purchased in 3 years. It's possible over 1 million people will want a Model 3 in that time period and if there is company infrastructure to support that level of customer ownership without any privately owned and run dealership infrastructure. At some point not everyone wants the same car as everyone else has and other EVs are coming on line soon. GM has a bunch in the pipeline based on it's EV platform, and the Bolt is a lower-priced EV than the Model 3. GM has huge manufacturing capability. All interesting stuff. Here's to hoping he can pull it off.

The response at the show must have been so brutally honest, that they decided for it to have an early retirement witch would in fact very well explain why it was sent to Miami |

I love the looks of the i8. And the i3 had some neat design elements even if the car overall wasn't that pretty. But this is BMW going in the completely wrong direction.
