Yeah power-to-weight on the M50 isn't favorable at lower speeds, but given how quick Kyle pulled away from that rolling start to pass the iX on his test drive, I can't imagine need more power down low, especially since he said the tires were scrambling for traction already.

No "seemed like" at all. It's an electrified 4 series Grand Coupe with a different dashboard.

That is exactly what it is.

Its an electric 4 series.
It's built on the same like and except for electric specific bits it has the same stuff.

For me that's just fine. While a bespoke EV platform would be nice. I'm also a realist and understand that BMW and others can't just abandon existing markets and go to EV only.

The i4 is a bridge car.

The really important metric the Tesla cheerleaders leave out is how the M50 will kill their M3P in the 60-130 by around 1.5 seconds.

Yes, you are spot on.

0-60 of being .1 or 1/4 mile of being .1 off does not = passing a car in real life unless you really wanted to side-swipe the person next to you

Plus we don't even know real life 0-60, 1/4 mile times of the M50 from reputatable sources yet, the ones that offer more instrumented tests that is.

However, a 60-130mph metric is MUCH more useful to determine if you can gap a car on the highway to get into their lane for the next exit.

1.5 seconds is like the difference between a 328i vs a 335i

I have 75000 miles combined on an AWD Model 3 and a Model 3 performance. For comparison's sake, I also own a 911 Turbo S.

I can assure you I have NEVER, EVER had an issue with performance on the highway going for any gap, merging, or going for an exit even in the Model 3 AWD. And our average cruise speed here in Houston is around 75. I simply leave everything in the dust in the Model 3.

Sure, is the Turbo S notably faster over 75 than the Tesla? Absolutely. But nailing the go pedal on the highway in a Model 3 performance, you're at 110 before you can really react. And because the response is so immediate, there is never a problem making any gap.

My 330i is sufficient too, it's just one of those "nice to know" type things.
