In case of that someone wonders about the pricing, here you have some guidance. Here, in Norway, electric cars don't pay VAT, so you can simply add VAT at whatever rate applies to your country to get a rough idea of the pricing. They're offering a Fully charged version that includes all the fun stuff. The specs are added at the bottom: https://translate.google.com/transla...w-ix-kampanje/
My sales rep told me there will be a private viewing next week for those customers who are interested in taking a first quick look at the car. As for the i4, more info is coming around the second of June, as other people have pointed out elsewhere. By that time they should have the prices ready as well. The first iX deliveries will start in November this year.

Well the i3 was fugly, low on specs, and expensive too. Some of us grew to love it. I've had 3 myself. Maybe the cheap lease rates and heavy discounts will come to the iX too. My decked out 60k (MSRP) i3S cost me $350/mo lease. I'd still be interested in IX even at $700/mo

so it's overpriced by 20-40K and slower at the same time - that's all I see in those new models.
If I want utilitarian EV I can get Volvo xc40 for 55K or Kia for 40K and be proud owner of EV ! If I want luxury EV I will go with Audi/Porsche/MB where I will get performance numbers for the price. |

The Audi etron and Mercedes EQC are slower and have less range than iX 50i. The Taycan is in another price class so are the EQS and etron GT. I think those will be great EV's. |

It's amazing the bashing this vehicle is taking. I like it, and will be very interested in seeing it in person when I have the opportunity. I also like the Audi etron a lot. The Volvo left me wanting. The Mach E was nice, but do I want a Ford?.... Would love to own a Taycan or EQS, but at age 72 I'm looking for something easier to exit than my M550, thus the desireability of the SUV (and then there's the price!). Tesla is a non-starter for me....just don't like the concept of having to look to the center computer screen for everything, the minimalist fit and finish, etc. Anyway, everyone is certainly entitled to their own opinion.....mine is, I like it, and can't wait to see it. YMMV

So…. Tesla X is faster, has more range, work with superchargers, has frunk, can seat 7, has better tech and cost less…
What is the point of this exercise, BMW? Leather seats? |

Doesn't charge $10,000 "FSD" which does nothing more than what BMW can do. And CarPlay - yes, a must have for me. |

X cost LESS with FSD provided you actually add BMW packages. I am not big fan of Tesla, i owned S, but BMW is far cry from Tesla tech. Besides, what about PERFORMANCE? Almost 2 seconds slower and 60 miles short of range. Quality is yet to be seen. First year models have never been particularly reliable. |

I believe Tesla Vision pure camera system with neural net is the future - however, we are not there yet, not even close. Tesla's system is just an accident waiting to happen, when Tesla system failed in freak situations not in their database. Until pure camera system becomes reliable, radar or LIDAR is an important safety backup. Quote:
BMW's tech is on par with Tesla, even current X5 can recognize Traffic lights, stop signs etc. Just that BMW is more conservative, and have not enabled those features in most markets. Unlike Tesla's reckless use of the misleading name of "AutoPilot", and customers as beta testers, sometimes with tragic results. As I mentioned, Tesla is way behind in headlight tech when it doesn't even have an anti-dazzle high beam system. In addition, Tesla has no HUD, and no CarPlay. Quote:

iX 50 already as expensive as Model X, while X has better performance and more range (besides other things like seating 7 and having 90% of tech standard). Now you are saying M60 will compete with X? While what, being probably 20K more expensive? M60 then should be at Model X Plaid range of performance then. Good luck with that. Realistic price for iX should be between Y and X. Like 70K. |

Most who are considering the iX would be cross shopping with Tesla, and obviously, there are deal breakers why we may pick iX over Tesla. Yes, you said "most" of the assistance systems is "standard", except you need to pay $10,000 if you want an autopark function, now available in most cars? While Model X may have an edge on straight line performance, we don't know how the BMW handles yet. The early reports from the i4 prototype is quite promising. So it remains to be seen which car drives better. |
