I think it's a possibility that all of Nancy's impeachment talk is nothing more than a ruse to keep their gullible base satisfied until the next election.

Yes. It will guarantee Trump 4 more rears. This will give him the opportunity to appoint judges who follow the constitution. I don't understand how a conservative can choose not to embrace this process. Without calling out any supposed conservative on this board I would be interested in the logic

Ya. He should be impeached by the House, but the GOP in the Senate will yet again hold their nose and prevent a conviction.
Using the power of his office to encourage a foreign govt to assist with the subversion of a political opponent during an election cycle. Rookie mistake. I can't recall that ever happening in the past, but economies were less global back then.

Not really. The media doesn't understand that his supporters simply don't care or are in denial. Trump supporters are not that much different from a woman who chooses to continue to live with an abusive husband.

Why do people so often use these lame analogies in their posts? They don't help your argument and most of the time they just come across as childish.

anglo - Not trying to jack your thread because I think you ask a legitimate and straightforward question. A sufficient number of people have replied with "No" and I'm hoping to get some more context.
As F32Fleet said, "Using the power of his office to encourage a foreign govt to assist with the subversion of a political opponent during an election cycle." is the excuse the Dems are using to push for impeachment. Hopefully we can all agree that this charge is what has the Dems fired up and pushing for impeachment (regardless of their motives, this is the action on Trump's part that they point to as evidence of the need for impeachment). Clearly, most on this thread feel impeachment is a ridiculous notion. So my question for those who voted "no." Is it because you feel the POTUS using his office to leverage a foreign government to influence our election is not impeachment worthy? Or is it because you dont believe that Trump's discussions with Ukraine and his comments to China about investigating the Bidens equate to him attempting to influence the upcoming election cycle? |

No.
To elaborate as suggested, it isn't at all certain whether he was trying to dig up dirt on an opponent or just trying to make sure corruption got looked into. Many people are sick of people getting very wealthy by virtue of their gov't jobs. And when they appear to have funneled wealth into their ne'er do well relatives, it's even more disgusting. And as an aside, I don't give a shit how it's found out that the Bidens are like the Clintons - just do it. This is similar to the hacking of the Dem emails in the 2016 election. Everyone in the msm and many on here were clutching their pearls over the hacking - no one cared about the dirty tricks and nastiness that were uncovered.

Although it was rarely talked about, during 2016 Trump campaign had various Russian contacts rightly or wrongly because they had genuine concerns that with Obama being in the White House and probably had access to the CIA/FBI, the Dems was able to obtain info on Trump campaign.
I think they are all doing it. Is it as bad as Nixon Watergate? Obama was smarter and not open his mouth all the time whereas Trump was on twitter showing it off. Even after the Ukraine call and subsequent impeachment attempt, Trump even publicly called on China to investigate on Biden and his son. |

The guy just last week included the word BULLSHIT in a tweet to the American people. He's a pathalogical liar. He sends his personal attorney rather than the DOJ to look for "corruption". Yes, he has done some good things only because it meshes with his interest of the moment. Ultimately he only cares about himself and his public perception.
