Just got a recall.

I already posted this in the BMW i3 facebook page, but thought idd share with ya guys also.

Just got a recall on my 120 AH i3s 2019MY, for something with either the electric engines of the car or the drive train issue that some people been having issues with, with me as one of them had twice where my car has stopped mid drive and all eletricdrive dying until the car restarts it self. It happen both times at times when there was low traffic so i am assuming it is that issue.

The job will take around 2-3 days depending if they can get an BMW i Certified technician out in time and it is a cost at around 3,3k-3,8k $ or around 3.0-3,2k £.

This time it is on the warranty so i am glad i aint paying out of pocket for this repair.

SHIT! I have only had my 2019 i3S for about a week now.

The last time I got a recall letter for BMW was on my 2017 40e. They did a recall relating to when the battery switched to the engine and they crippled my battery and my eMPG was cut by 50% after the recall was performed. It was a nightmare and a battle to get out of the car. I am NOT happy if I have to do this recall! So afraid they will ruin my battery range!!

This is a larger recall for the EME module it affects the 2019 MY cars. both I3 and I8 are affected, so those of us with MY19 will be getting these recalls in the coming weeks.

This supposedly only affects builds between Dec 2018 - March 2019.
