Nope, mine is fine as well, don't know anyone with an issue, didn't hear anything from the other i8 club members.

![]() But honestly, I think this is a wild goose chase. Always the same people post their issue, mix in a little unrelated, damage induced problems from others and create a click bait title. Suggest to relax and enjoy the car. Last edited by Leto1701; 09-28-2020 at 03:14 AM.. |

I don’t think it’s click bait and I’m sure it’s a issue with a few, just no biggy.
Sure there are only 20K i8s sold around the world but there are currently 165000 i3’s sold with, as I understand it, the same components. The i3 is generally a load cheaper than the i8, so we would be hearing about a lot of written off, uneconomic to repair, and thus well publicised i3 AC problems from their angry owners - if it was a common problem. I have a 2019 i8 Roadster with 10,000 miles, and a fair amount of those miles are with the AC on.
No issues so far, except for a Turbo Charging Cord recall that has been a year waiting for BMW to send. The charging cord that I received with the car has been working fine. Unrelated question: What does the "LCI" designation refer to? |

I am not sure on how many I8 owners has seen or checked out this forum, so far there are only less than handful that had reported/ written or known of anyone who experienced this issue along with this crack windshield mystery.

Early i3 models seem to have this occasionally. Looking at realoem, they've had about 10 AC compressor revisions on the i3 at this point. I haven't seen any 2016 or later i3s have the issues.
Are the i8s you're seeing with this issue early cars, or spread across all years?
