Remove outer rocker panel

Hi! I'm new here. I was wondering if anyone could give me insight on how to remove the outer rocker panel or if there were any helpful instructions online. This one has a gouge in it and I want to get it repaired and repainted. In addition to that does anyone know what the black plastic part is called underneath it? Where can I find that specific piece? That has a chip and needs to be replaced as well.

Here are the steps to remove and replace the rocker panel that's damaged:

This is the black trim piece:

If you reach behind that black trim piece you can feel the bolts that hold it in to place. They follow the contour of that body panel.
