Did you preorder?

I did.

This forum is a bit stale, so I thought we might start a thread for pre-order folks to share their experiences.

I'll start: the dealer I am working with say they know nothing. But elsewhere here there's Canadian pricing.

Anyone have the US ordering guide?

I haven't pre-ordered yet but I'm definitely in the market for the iX. I might wait for the M60 though. Also curious about the Audi Q6 E-tron and the Rivian R1S and the Lucid Gravity - but the latter might be a few more years away.

It's weird that Canada configurator has been up for a while but we're still waiting in the US.

Super excited about the iX and can't wait to see one in the flesh, or even better, test-driving one!

I think I'm going to be happy with the xDrive50 -- I don't need more than 500hp in a daily driver. :-)

Plus, if the difference in suspension stiffness between a G01 X3 30i and G01 X3 M40i translates to the same differences between the xDrive50 and the xDriveM60, I'll be happier with the former.

Pre ordered as well in Chicago. Not sure if I'll end up getting it, still waiting for final pricing. If it gets close to 100K, I'll probably get another X5 instead and wait another 3 year lease period.

Preordered, but unlikely to buy it. UK configurator lists extremely expensive options, and most are necessary. Fully configured iX tips over 120K pounds which usually means same number in dollars in the US.

Interior caters to women, IMHO. Plaid + alcantara + crystal buttons + wood panel + crystal iDrive is like some sort of fashion statement. BMW used to me masculine - leather, carbon fiber, aluminum. iX is none of that.

Trunk is smaller than X5. No spare wheel. No frunk. So, I guess, Costco cruiser. X5 45e wins 100%.

Yup…the market knows that the iX, at least on paper, might be a stunner and is willing to risk it.

I called a dealer from whom I bought a car in 2018 and asked if he wanted to compete for my iX business.

They said the pre-order is specific to the dealer I picked when placing the pre-order. That wasn't the dealer I contracted to ask about their interest.

Repeated emails to BMW resulted in rote repetition of the "contact your dealer" refrain.

Is it really possible we won't be able to shop for the best deal for our iXs? That we committed to a take it or leave or deal for a car we haven't seen whose detailed pricing is unavailable?

What's been your experience?

Since the deposit is fully refundable, why don't you just place another pre-order at another dealer if there is a better deal?
You are allowed to cancel any time before delivery.

Because I shouldn't have to place multiple orders or deal with the inconvenience of getting my deposit back.

They have now sold out on the June allocation. I got a call since I had asked about preordering and during my regular service appointment, I basically filled out a form and paid my $1500 deposit. I suppose I could have done it with BMW itself.

I should be in the before June allocation 🤞

Yes, I have a preorder for an iX and an i4 M50... it was supposed to be for the Mrs, but she isn't sold on a pure EV... she doesn't like my Tesla. So, I might take it vs the i4 M50.... we shall see.

Has anyone been provided with the ordering and pricing guides for the I20? Canada's guides are out. I gotta believe the US info is available.

my dealer had very little idea about anything at this point, they got one iX in on the show floor recently, I'm planning to go and see it soonish.

Is it there permanently? I saw the one the BMW NA trainer demoed for the day at BMW Sudbury. But I didn't think dealers had models to show.

pre-ordered in Belgium

I did a pre-order on a iX 5.0 in Belgium beginning of august.
The 4.0 is expected here quicker (still this year).
1st 5.0 series in Belgium expected to arrive end of this year beginnin gof next year.
Mine was foreseen for march but due to semiconductor issues it is now foreseen for june.

Config: Full-option - Individual Storm Grey- 22"jet black wheels, interior suite Amido.

Quite curious to compare it with my current X5 45e
