520 hp and 346 lbs of torque. Curiously enough this also happens to be the GT3RS specs 😁

It's hard to put more than 1000 HP to the ground effectively before 100 mph.

I have had several cars like EVO, STI, Golf R etc which were in the 300 hp range and IMO that range makes for a quick car rather than fast. I liked the balance of the OG M2 with 365 hp and that was probably perfect for a street car so I would say the range of 400 hp is probably the best although that varies depending on vehicle size and weight. I can't imagine needing more power than what the S58 provides even in a heavy SUV like the X3MC it can shame most sports cars in a straight line. That said I would never turn down the opportunity to own a more powerful vehicle if the opportunity was presented. Sometimes engine character matters more than just raw hp/torque as the Shelby GT350 isn't blazing fast in a straight line but it's much more of an experience than most V8TT's that make more power.

RWD only between 400-500whp is fun for daily. But you have to learn the car to know your limits.
I feel that since AWD is way more forgiving and easy to handle it's a big window btwn 500-750awhp is fun. It's there when you need it and its still easily tameable.

The 480hp/490tq my M3 puts down is ridiculously overkill for the street.

My biggest gripe about the car is that I can't wind it out. At all. Put your foot into for more than 3-4 seconds, and you're breaking the law.

In a straight line, if you can’t spin the tires at what ever speed your at, it’s not enough!
On a road course, it’s a lot more complicated.

In terms of long term reliability I'm thinking right around 100 hp/liter of displacement.

Let me put some bad tire on it to solve the not enough hp problem...

For most modern cars around rwd 3500 lbs, 450 is fantastic...

For AWD, cars you can go up to 600... i.e M5... but that's highly dependent on weight.

I think a car like the F80 M3 Comp is at the very limit of what can be used to its full extent on a daily... power to weight just works

Why do you daily the S2K and not the M3? Seems like the M3 would make a better daily?

S2k has cheaper operation cost, older car, and more low key.

Good day. I believe that a lot of power for the car is not needed. I have 3 row suv and I'm quite happy with its power. As you can guess, this is the new BMW X7. Its power is enough to easily overtake and move comfortably.

For me, the car needs to have enough power to keep up with at least 85% of the cars on the road yet it should be fun to drive too.

High HP and low TQ is always a struggle and not so fun to drive. My current daily is a 2002 E55 with 350 HP/400 TQ and I can keep up with most of what's out there.

I also have a '12 X5M and at 620/570 , I am very pleased with that too.
