Just got these installed on my iX, had them on my X5 and got used to the wider view, so I figured I would give it shot on the iX. I found them on eBay, the OEM part numbers don't appear to be anywhere on the mirror so you just have to search for "BMW iX EU mirror", or I would have happy to share the seller if anyone is interested.
Install process was the same as it was on the X5, but I included the repair instructions in case anyone else wants to do the same. I moved them to the up position like it states, then waiting about 20 minutes for the car to "go to sleep" before disconnecting the mirrors. Pretty easy install and they look great. |

Hi all. For EU or factory wide angle mirror iX owners, does the drivers side glass (the large area, not the outer dotted area) have different magnification or is it identical to a normal mirror but just the outer dotted area is wide angle?
reason I ask is I got Euro wide angle glass for my X3 and the right side was fine and normal but the left side (driver side) the magnification was also changed for the normal glass area and made it very difficult to use so I ended up going back to OEM on left side and getting extended view lenses that stuck on. it was almost like a normal passenger side mirror glass magnification but fit on the driver side. I'm looking to get at least the passenger side (right for USA) wide angle glass and just wanted some clarification on the driver side glass (left ). thank you. |

freshxdough The angle is wider. You can definately see much better. Even though the car assists/prevents blind spot issues, you can see those areas better.

We have wider and darker roads here in US.
But we don't have anti-dazzle lights or wide-angle mirrors.

Based in Hong Kong, it’s standard for I20 iX not to have anti dazzle on the left side mirror (passenger side) which is strange. In my previous G05 X5, anti dazzle is available in both side mirrors.
Does anyone know if it’s possible to replace the left side mirror with one that has anti dazzle as I got used to having it. Apart from mirror that needs replacing, what about wiring? I do have the blind spot feature. Part numbers will be helpful. Thanks for your time!

I miss Euro style mirrors in the US for sure. Never understood why they are not standard here for the blind spot. Instead here we have to have "Objects in the mirror are closer than they appear" or some such. As such would replacing with EU spec cause failure of any inspections? Not likely to do this on a lease, but am curious overall.

Spot on! It definately takes time to get used to smaller images in the mirror. Took me a minute also, but I love em!

Not too sure i like it on my old 225xe, when looking in side mirrors it seems like things are far away while the center mirror gives the "why is he so far upp my ass" feeling
