We know that the W13 is terrible but I'm curious to know where and how Mercedes got this car so wrong. I'm actually surprised there's this much of a drop off.

No, even Russell was nearly 33 seconds behind at the end. Without the help of that SC he would have been behind the winner by over a minute. MB is so far off the pace it's incredible after their years of dominance.

(2) things. I think the new fuel mixture - combined with very real gains by Ferrari PU- have just evened the playing field. MB seem to have not completely settled the PU on E10.

I would think that substantial Ferrari power gains and Honda/RB getting fuel/power right and not losing power... have combined with MB developing a chassis/aero kit that is not the worst, ... but not dominant. ... so now you are back down to the driver.

haha... there it is.

Probably correlation issues with simulations and the real car since there was no previous data. Then the lack of tunnel and CFD time to really hone their design. Plus their radical zero pod concept probably took alot of CFD hours to get right as well. So in the end they got a really unique concept but didn't get to refine it at all. Look at the w13's floor edge and how simple it is vs. redbull, ferrari, and even Haas. They didn't get much refinement time with this car, I suspect it to get alot better after some big upgrade packages to correct the porpoising.

Merc car in general. Russ was 17+ seconds behind in just 10 laps. He had lost 1.7 sec per lap. The gap is huge.

I've never seen Max fans ever wish anything like that.

Saying stuff like this kind of further reinforces that Lewis fans are primarily virtue signaling victim personality cucks just like he is.
Getting tired of saying this. I'm not a Lewis fan. I want him to retire.

Must respect to Max after passing Charles and gapping him enough to keep him behind.

I still think Charles got robbed of DRS with that VSC blip.

Overall a very enjoyable race to watch and being a RB / Max / Checko fan this win after the 2 x DNF last week was nice to see that they are not LOST with the new cars.

I think that the cars design this year will certainly change the way the strategy is deployed. The DRS seems to yield a much larger advantage than in previous years. Either that or the cars are under powered yielding the same effect.

I never remember so much passing only to give up the position after the next DRS zone. It certainly makes the race more interesting to watch.

I just love the Driver POV shots they never get old for me.

euhhhhm....EVERY team got to vote. And every engine manufacturer, and some rights holders. In total 34 parties got to vote, and 27 votes in favour were needed to go through. I believe everyone voted in favour. Mercedes too.
And this vote was before the previous 2021 season started and the freeze has started this season.
So that is the status quo.

True, however extending your power to steer other teams into a vote due to the pressure of your engine contract for your own gain instead of making F1 better imho something new.
Just as putting pressure on the FIA for a mid season rule change (Ferrari also was the victim of that, not only RB).
So although there is only one camp for a team, how they look at other camps can certainly differ imho.
I wonder if events will happen this year where teams will have to vote again, and how teams with the merc engine will act then, now that the Merc engine is not the engine to have anymore.

Ferrari didn’t want to and Renault and RB obviously don’t have a good relationship so they obviously weren’t in any mood to help RB out. They did it under duress as RB threatened to quit F1 again for the thousandth time if they didn’t get their way. Plus you are still ignoring the deal RB/Honda struck to get those votes which looks very sketchy now to say the least.

Politics and drama indeed……….

They'll need to get their terrible engine working with E10 too. There's no way every Mercedes powered team goof'd on aero and every Ferrari powered team didn't.

Maybe you just dislike Max?

Which is fine - I like Max and I really despise Lewis the person (not the driver) but I'd never wish anything terrible like that on him.
