The only saving grace in this announcement is the word "concept" with the hope that cooler minds may prevail: the ones that understand that alienating core customers isn't particularly helpful when trying to meet sales and profitability targets.

The resemblance of this vehicle with Fiat X1/23 may or may not be coincidental but no matter how I look at this vehicle the parental heritage from Citroen 2CV continues to surface.

I dig it, it's a small city car. WTF do you people expect it to be? You want a 2000 hp bubble? To get you 5 miles in a sec? LOL!!!! Bimmerpost should just rename their website MPost, that's all that's accepted anymore here.

I love the evolution of the grill and headlights as one unit, and the line designs give me BMWs from the 80/90s vibes.

You have plenty of "Real BMWs"… if you haven't read/seen every M car on here best everyone else's ass, then you need help.

The only thing worse than this concept is people who quote the original post in their response, making the thread unnecessarily long.

If you want sexy EV the only choice is Lagonda.

The problem with the "it's just a concept" thinking is that BMW will end up carrying over some of this design into actual products. I have zero hope for the exterior styling of future BMWs, they will cease to be something I will buy (regardless of handling).

Looks like it tripped and about to go end over end. Not a good thing.

Kidney grilles remind 507/Z8 approach and I do like that a LOT more than this monstrous stuff they pedal on the M4 today, so hey, that's nice..

Wow. That looks awful. I usually like the quirky, strange looking designs but this is too much. Way out there. I understand it’s a concept but sheesh, this is like when you spend too much time on acid. You go from being grounded and curious to handing out pamphlets of your phrophecies. Totally untethered from reality.

Great find! I actually love the design on this city mover.. what are the chances they make it exactly as designed? I would buy one if so but chances are they make it and work the design down to ugly from prototype to production - it's a shame they should really aim to replicate it 100% so it holds true to the vision vs some abstract rendition

And I thought that the G8x was the most disgusting thing on 4 wheels in existence. Man was I wrong! I simply can't find the words to express my feelings and I don't think that's because I'm not an English native speaker.

The psychedelic interior answers the question of whether these BMW designers are on drugs.

That was going to be my comment. If they were launching this as a replacement of the i3, with carbon fibre tub and RWD then once it morphed into a production car it could end up pretty good.

The 507 / Z8 look of the grille is better than the vertical monstrosity and then looking at the shark nose, Hofmeister kink, guards / wheel flares, etc. it has more BMW design cues than some of the current production cars.

If you think BMW has never made city cars like this before, think again (1958 isetta 300):
