Is it worth it to add HK sound system? I left it out but I’ve never listened to HK or base system since this is my first BMW.

Yes get the sound upgrade.

HK is a *LOT* better than the plain setup.
More speakers. More power.

Out of all the options, don't skip that one.

Yes, get the HK upgrade. It is nice. The base stereo is good for sports radio only.

Thanks, just added to my build. My dealer is swamped with orders they don’t even have time to enter into their system I had plenty of time to change.

So it looks like the biggest difference between the i4 and 440i are the fender flares at the rear and the dash.

Well... At least you know your dealer is busy. Mine is radio silent. Last week when we put the iX in the order system it went smooth within an hour of opening up... I'm guessing that the i4 has way more allocations. Good luck!

PS - we ordered the Bowers and Wilkins stereo on the iX. I am guessing that we may have blown and extra 3k on a stereo that isn't going to be noticeably different from the HK. My 535iX has an HK and my teenage boys thinks it "thumps"... That's good right? Anyhow we'll see...

For anyone trying to maximize range. The 40 with 19" wheels and All season tires will have more range than the 18" with performance tire.

I was number 1 on the list so my order was entered in almost immediately and I had my pdf to approve by 2:00 yesterday.

Do you have a link for where you got that info? I've wondered about that and always assumed the 18" would have the greatest range. I didn't select it because I think they're ugly. So it would be great to get the wheels I like and the range to boot.

I've been looking at some German builds to get an estimate of the range, switching wheel sizes don't make too much impact to the range compared to the type of tire. They don't have exactly the same combination, but I think it's a fare estimate.

eDrive 40:
17" 852 All Season - 365 miles
18" 854 All Season - 360 miles
19" 859 All Season - 358 miles
19" 859 Performance - 325 miles

M50
18" 858 All Season - 318 miles
19" 860 All Season - 317 miles
19" 860 Performance - 292 miles
20" 868 High Performance - 267 miles

So I just found this on BMW's U.S. website. Although it doesn't seem to match the i4 models here, it does seem to give a decided edge to the smaller 18" wheels. I might have to rethink wheel size.

Estimated electric range:

BMW iX xDrive50:
20" wheel: 325 miles
21" wheel: 275 miles
22" wheel: 300 miles

BMW i4 eDrive50:
18” wheel: 300 mi
19" wheel: 275 mi

BMW i4 M50:
19" wheel: 270 miles
20" wheel: 220 miles

Funny that the reveal and press cars all have the M seats, but we can't order those in the US, one of biggest markets

that was final thing that made me decide not to order one, I'll wait a while before I jump to EV, now if only I could get an allocation for the Cayman GT4RS at MSRP

Yeah. All European cars.
You can definitely get a euro car with those seats.

BMW NA didn't add them to the build config. it's a shame but it wasn't a deal breaker for me. I like the sports seats, but would have preferred the M seats.

My mistake I meant the MSport Seats. I have the sport seats in my current M340I but whenever I see the MSport I get so jealous cause they look soooooo much better than the ones I have lol

I'm first on my dealer's preorder list. My CA says my order is February build but I can push it to March, April, May or June.

Went in person to look at a couple GC they had. Wife and I are pleased with the rear seat headroom for a car seat.

She definitely wants dravit and I can't complain. I had it on my m340i with oyster last year.

Biggest question will be if I trade off ventilated seats for oyster or cognac.
I was the first M50 pre-order at my dealership. Submitted build today, and no one had any idea what my build month would be. That's why I read posts here! Thanks for your information!
