Amazing deal on an i8 Service Pack UK

So I thought I'd enquire about a service pack for my 2017 i8. I was quoted £540 for the services needed to take me through to March 2023, thats a Hybrid II service, a brake fluid service, a Hybrid I service, along with one free MOT, seasonal vehicle checks (if you want to bother) and sat nav updates. Needless to say I've bought it. Might be worth checking out if you haven't already......

Wow! Sounds like a great price - that's the '£15' a month price! Please could you send any (anonymised) paperwork with references please? Which dealer is this with? I got a quote from Emacs/Stratstone Leeds where they quoted around a £1000 for a service pack for 2 x minor and 1 x major service, but the major service was not a true hybrid II - it didn't include belt change or door struts, belt change was about £5-600 and door struts were £100 I think on top! They said 36 months x £28 I think.

It was with Sytner. The quote doesn't specifically mention the belt change or door struts, but I asked the question of whether the price included everything that would be needed to maintain the car in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations in order that I could keep the car under the BMW warranty from now until March 2023 and the answer was a definitive yes (in writing).

I asked the same. They said yes.

When I called back to ask about belt and struts they said no.

It might be that's all that's needed for servicing and belt and struts aren't obligatory?

i enquired with Cooper Croydon and they have the same offer on going £540 inc vat. It's a BMW UK effort. There is a service one and two in the offer and break fluid + MOT. What would these things cost outside of a plan?

I am thinking of taking up the offer but would like to know what saving this represents?

Eric - this is from Cooper York. Note that belt change is £599 and struts are £170 and will not be included in the service pack.

Other dealers prices vary, Bradford JCT is £160 I think for struts and £1290 for Major service.

so a service 1 is £365, a service 2 is £1377 and the package for the two is £540? Seems like a no brainer? Not sure where the belt service comes in, can you pls enlighten me?

On my 2015 i8, i have a service pack i had paid £1k for when i bought new. Never spent a penny on a service between 2015-2020. That was bliss.

Yes me too. My service pack on my 2015 i8 has run out now. Do you know what service comes next year and how much? They did the belts and struts this year.

It’s good but not great. The £1100 Hybrid 2 service usually includes belts and the door struts, other than that it’s not really much more than the Hybrid 1. (maybe the spark plugs depending on BMW dealer) So if the belts & struts aren’t in the deal then it’s still a saving but not a big one.

The emac pack does not go by hybrid I or II, it calls them minor and major.

Minor service looks the same as Hybrid I, and the Major service is Hybrid II without the belt or struts change.

Yes, just be wary about what's included in major/minor service as I've had lots of arguments with main dealers about getting spark plugs included for a Hybrid I service (assuming thats a minor service). The website says its included but my dealer says its not.

Just checked, in Edinburgh UK a 2015 registered i8, hybrid I is £257 inc VAT and a Hybrid II is £1025. (You'd think the prices would be the same Nationally except London - odd - unless newer car owners are getting ripped off)
The only apparent difference between them is Hybrid II includes struts & belts. Both include (all 3!) spark plugs.
Your deal appears to be for 2x Hybrid I +£54 brake fluid+ a free£45 MOT...so still a saving.

Would be a great day out to visit Edinburgh haha! Which site was that quote from? My screenshot was from the BMW Connected app, when you click dealer.

Stratstone Leeds is £1322, Bradford is £1190 for Hybrid II. £130 more for 10 minutes of driving!

I'm sure on the emac service 'minor' they said it was essentially oil and filter change. I don't recall sparks.

Edit: Just checked my emac paperwork. The 'minor' is called 'Oil & Micro filter', the major is called 'Oil & Micro filter +'

'Oil & Micro filter':
Fluid top up
Microfilter
Oil Service
Wash and Vac

'Oil & Micro filter +':
As above plus
Spark plugs
Air filter
Vehicle Check
Brake Fluid

It does NOT include struts or belt change, which is a hybrid II.

Here's a service pack for £1k that includes 2 'Microfilter +' services and 1 'Microfilter'.
Bizarre how it thinks I need the oil change in 7 months for one, then a year and a half for the next...

You all do what you want to do. £540 to pay for all the servicing needs of this car to keep it in warranty until March 2025 is fine with me. And yes I do have that in writing.

So i have explored all options and it was far from straight forward.

Unlike the above two gentlemen, i was not offered a service plan for £8...

The online connected services plan for 60 month / 60k miles was £721. Unfortunately, it would have taken me from date of first reg November 2019 to November 2024.
As such, i would have had only 2 services done since my first service is due January 2021.
I would have missed out on 3rd service in January 2025.

So i looked at the Emac £540 plan with the dealer again which covers, service 1, service 2, brake fluid, mot. I could have extended it to another 3rd service for a total of £759.54 (no additional MoT though).
I thought that the £540 one offered the most value so i went for this one.
