Given that I live in the UK, this may not help. Got it from Halfords, cheap as chips! I just cut it to size. Had a quick look on Amazon and they do lots of “spider web” type accessories but these wouldn’t work, the nearest I found was:
https://www.amazon.com/YESSKO-Anti-S...on%2Bslip&th=1 I found that with my wireless charging pad, the phone would still charge as long as it was within 6mm of the pad so the thickness of the silicone made little difference. |

Today I noticed by removing the tray insert my iPhone X’s max fits in the inset are and doesn’t move. There is an edge holding it in place. |

I did the same, took out the redundant tray! My phone is a Galaxy S9 so quite big.

I didn't realize that. When I tested it, I waited until the car fully shut down and the ACC port was still on. I didn't wait an hour though...

However, you're going to use a 12V port whether you connect a wireless charger or a full power USB charger. The USB charger plugged into that very same 12V port is going to charge your phone 3 times faster than the wireless charger! Also, if you are running a high power app like Waze, a wireless charger won't even keep up with the power demand much less than charge your phone. Waze actually will draw more power from your phone than a wireless charger can provide. (Ask me how I know).

I know this is a bit of old post, but looking through the thread it was never answered. I'm not sure why it won't fit other's cars (maybe model-year?), but I can confirm this was a simple plug and play install to replace the Snap-in adaptor in my 2019 car. .... I say simple, getting the Snap-in adaptor out and accessing the plugs underneath takes a bit of patience! Hope this is of help to someone! |

They list compatibility for a bunch of cars including the i8 Roadster from "2018-2020" (although it was only made from 2019-2020). Part #84102449887 is an identical appearing device and using ECS tuning I noted that it also fits various BMWs but does not explicitly mention the i8 at all. However, it does in fact fit (random check) a few 2-series and the M4-coupe which I checked as also compatible with 84106840126. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...102449887~geb/ It stands to reason then all of these part numbers would work in all of these cars as well as the i8 roadster. Review: 84102449887, 84106840126, 84106830808, and 84109391200 are all the same part. |
