For me it starts and ends with an AWD m3 wagon (I'd actually be happier with a B58 wagon, but thats not appropriate to say outloud).

As long as Porsche keeps making manual transmission convertible sports cars I'm good with one of those and and a properly powered sporty 3 series wagon as my fleet.

I'm currently shopping for an e63 wagon, but they're "a lot"... not just money but they're so over the top in everything. I'd prefer the size and pace of an m3 wagon if I could get one.

More specifically, I really wished BMW utilized the S85/S65 platform to its full potential (I've mentioned this missed opportunity more than a few times on this board):
  1. An S65/S85 powered mid-engined 21st century M1 with carbon fiber construction and a modern manual gearbox paired with a DCT option would have made for a phenomenal and legendary supercar and I'm of the opinion that the S65/S85 were far superior engines than the V8 (also shared with the B7 RS4) and V10 engines in the first generation R8 (which would have been its closest competitor). I can only imagine what one or two more generations of further development would have yielded from that platform. Mind you the R8 continued on development and eventually its V10 was massaged to 8700 RPM & 600+ HP. Now imagine if the S65/S85 platform got the same amount of time for continued development/evolution.
  2. An S65 powered 1M and/or Z4 M (E89) was the second (and third) missed opportunity. BMW was able to use the S54 in all previous small 'M Coupes' before then. There really was no reason why BMW couldn't offer a small M with the contemporary M3 engine as they did with the S54 and as they do now with the S55, especially since they were racing Z4 GT3s with motorsport versions of the S65 (P65) anyway. Emissions, no business case, late 2000s economic calamity, or BMW not listening to enthusiasts...we'll never know...but many of us agree that what a pity that ship sailed.

I would love a F81 M3 Wagon with the CS exterior bits, a manual transmission, full interior (and no weird CS HVAC). With like all of the options and in some wild individual colors. Like a hodge-podge of different F8X parts. Oh and while i'm at it, have one giant carbon roof.

Just give me a street legal GT3 race car and I'd be happy. Seem to mod everything I've ever owned in that direction anyway.

M3/4 with NA motor like Porsche does with GT3 and GT4 for 911 and Cayman.

BMW lost that focus on performance that they had with E46 M3 CSL.

Personally, I would have preferred to see Audi bring over the RS4 Avant to the US before the RS6.

I'd be satisfied with the M340i Touring.

I'd like to see some domestic performance sedans again. Impala SS and/or a Buick GNX.
Or maybe even a domestic performance wagon....

Modern day Volvo V70R/S60 R that's not built in China
A Toyota hot hatch, maybe we will get it here in the Americas eventually with the GR Corolla, accessible, attainable street fun, and completely worry free ownership.
Now we talking about hot hatch, how's a proper Mazdaspeed 3 hatch, with better suspension and a LSD to go with the current Mazda 3 turbo that will give the Type R a proper run for its money
EVO estate like the ones sold in Japan
Mazda RX9, though I really am not holding my breath for this one.

Agree. The RS6 and E63S wags are great, but both start above $100k. A more "affordable" sporty wagon would have been awesome, even just a C43/M340/S4 wagon as long as you could get a minimum of 6-cylinders rather than the turbo 4 of the older 330 and A4 Allroads.

Even oversized kidneys look good on this concept.

Yeah, markups have already begun with the RS6 across various dealers within the US. At that price you're definitely in P car territory. Not quite sure how RS6 sales will fare at a price point between $130k-$150k (that's after the dealer adjusted markup) I think Audi could have been smarter with the introduction of the more affordable RS4.

That would be nice to see, especially a 400+hp G70.
