If you want the best suggestions, contact Johns Hopkins and ask the department head or whoever is assigned as your advisor. You cannot go wrong with reading the classics. They are often alluded to in various situations.

If you're planning on working during college, get a job at a grocery store or beer distributor. You want to be the go to person for underage drinking in your dorm. You'll get envited to every party and laid every weekend.

lol, I've heard of wow drop outs too. Thanksfully don't have any friends do that. Closest I saw was someone missing finals to play counter strike. Can't imagine what went through his head. (not chemistry, obviously)

I do know a few people in fraternities that drop out of school. Too much partying/drinking and not enough self control. If you try to join a fraternity, gotta watch out for your grades. Not saying fraternities can't be a good experience because I had a blast and met some great people.

Yes, I've read both of those, great books.

You guys really need to read "The Element" by Ken Robinson. GREAT read.

Precisely come out of the gate HOT the first few weeks when the course load is light. Get hammered, slam out a few chicks and then when you do start having to study your rep as an animal is already intact!

As for books, the last good one I read was "Boys will be boys" about the 90s Dallas Cowboys...Those guys may have actually partied harder than they played...

Read classic literature and stay away from pundits who publish just to see themselves in print. Here are 3 great ones to get to right away:

Martin Eden by Jack London
John Barleycorn also by Jack London
The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand (sure Atlas Shrugged is great but this one is better and lesser known)

Never, ever read anything that could be deemed "self-help". Grab a drink, read the best authors that ever lived and don't let the PC scum emasculate you.

well, read this entire thread before noticing that it's a decade old. would have suggested 'God And Man At Yale' (William F. Buckley Jr.) just as sort of an inoculation against all the SJW bilge you were about to swim through as an undergrad. didn't suggest any from the usual list because it was evident from the quality of your writing that you were already reading at a much greater rate than your HS colleagues.
won't comment on the early respondent JayKay because your response to him did the job quite well.

but my reason for responding: very curious as to how it all turned out for you since we haven't heard from you in ten years.
i'm guessing you're only now recovering from Vascular Surgery Fellowship, OR you've already moved on the Porsche forums.
