"Adequately" fast. I have (had until yesterday) a M5 too, I stopped driving my m5 after getting the i8. M5 was maddeningly fast, may be too fast to enjoy as a daily car, or maybe this is me getting old. I8 is fast in a much more civil way,
Unlike m5, you have to work pretty hard to kill your self in an i8! |

It was reported that in Germany if you had the speed limiter removed it would do 198mph and 0-60 in 3.2. Don't know how reliable this info is though. Tuning the i8 takes around 0.3 - 0.5 of a second off the 0-60 but no increase in top speed.

Its ok fast. All speed is relative to what you compare it with.
Regarding the rumour that it would do 198mph with a speed limit removed, with a 1.5 turbo engine, its unlikely to even get close. |
