240volt line/charger is only answer . Will cut charging time to 10 hrs or less for an i4 at 100 percent

That's all understood for the majority of users. This thread is, respectfully, not directed towards you (y'all can stick with the debate of 40amp plug in vs 48amp hardwired LoL). I'm among a "niche market"... typically I'd guess retiree's / condo owners / apartment dwellers / others with access to an ICE or company vehicle who don't travel much. I probably will spring another $1k or so for another dedicated (240v) circuit, but if it means replacing the panel for another $5k or so I'll probably pass, at least for the coming summer.
